KIOLI: Keep It On Long Island

About Farmingdale State College

What Will Four Years do for You?

Like the students they educate, colleges experience change, pursue growth, and become transformed. By any appraisal, Farmingdale State College is a path to achievement, and where education is a tool for discovery.

With President Keen at the helm, Farmingdale prepares students with the education, skills, and critical thinking to meet the challenges of tomorrow. As the largest of SUNY’s colleges of technology – with almost 7,000 students – Farmingdale equips its students with the resources and knowledge sought by today’s emerging industries—just one reason that seven of our academic programs have a 100 percent job placement rate.

Our applications have risen 72 percent and enrollment by 62 percent over the past eight years. The quality of our students continues to increase. Find out why Farmingdale has become an increasingly popular choice for motivated students—and why we were the top vote-getter among all public colleges in the Long Island Press “Best of Long Island” poll.

Farmingdale State CollegeAt Farmingdale, students also have abundant opportunities in experiential learning—internships, clinical training, and guided research—that provide practical instruction and personal growth. And help you get a foot in the door after graduation.

All at tuition you can afford.

New baccalaureate programs include Medical Technology, Applied Psychology, Applied Economics, Software Technology and Bioscience. Unique offerings include the only Aviation program in a public college in New York State and the only Dental Hygiene program on Long Island. Plus, our School of Business is one of the fastest-growing in SUNY.  And, with the approval of eight new minors in areas like applied math, sustainable energy, and Italian studies, students can tailor degrees to fit their career goals.

Research?

Faculty and students at the Institute for Research and Technology Transfer are engaged in pioneering efforts to develop alternative energy.  Research and training are also underway at the Solar Energy Center, site of over a $1 million worth of photovoltaic units and the first center in the northeast accredited by the Institute of Sustainable Power as a Training Institution.

And Bioscience students are assisting with research as part of a National Institutes of Health grant and have been accepted into prestigious graduate programs such as the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Doctoral program.

With great support services like the Student Success Center and the Career Development Center, Farmingdale students are given the tools they need to develop rewarding, thriving careers. A new Student Center scheduled to open in 2011 will be the centerpiece of our growing, dynamic campus.

See how our small, personalized classes, a new residence hall with suite-style living, a lush 380-acre campus undergoing major renovations, and a highly successful NCAA Division III athletics program with ultra-modern facilities help prepare Farmingdale State College students for a whole new world.
