Splashes of Hope Volunteer Diana Daino Recognized with Motorola CEO Award for Volunteerism

Diana Daino - Motorola 2009 CEO Award for Volunteerism

Huntington, NY; 07/26/10 – Splashes of Hope announced the receipt of a $5,000 grant from the Motorola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Motorola (NYSE: MOT). The grant was made in honor of Motorola employee Diana Daino, who won Motorola’s CEO Award for Volunteerism for her work with Splashes of Hope.

The CEO Award for Volunteerism encourages worldwide community involvement and recognizes exceptional dedication by Motorola employees.

“Throughout the year, Motorola employees across the world dedicate their time, effort and finances to charitable initiatives,” said Eileen Sweeney, director of the Motorola Foundation. “The CEO Award for Volunteerism gives us the opportunity to call out the individual accomplishments of our employees. We are thrilled to celebrate Diana’s contributions to Splashes of Hope.”

“Diana has been a delight to work with, and we are truly thankful for her donating her time, talent and energy to the Splashes of Hope mission,” wrote Splashes of Hope Founder and Executive Director Heather Buggée. Splashes of Hope brings color and vibrancy to medical facilities through murals, ceiling tiles, and focal points. This leads to an atmosphere more conducive to the healing process. Diana’s assignments “have ranged from designing special murals for children with a life-threatening illness, creating custom coloring books for hospitalized children, painting for our live auction, to traveling to cities throughout the United States painting colorful murals in children’s hospitals,” continued Ms. Buggée.

“Each project Diana has taken on has elevated the Splashes of Hope creations to a higher level of artistry. Her professionalism, talent, devotion and positive energy has inspired our team of volunteers to become more active and enjoy the creative process even more with her sense of humor and positive outlook,” said Ms. Buggée.  “On behalf of Splashes of Hope, we celebrate Diana Fogerty Daino for the beautiful and uplifting artwork she has designed and created to brighten the lives of hospitalized children and their families.   She is truly deserving of the Motorola CEO Volunteerism award!”
