Montauk Point Lighthouse
Montauk, NY
You can visit Montauk Point State Park and the museum that showcases the seafaring history of the Lighthouse and offers guided tours! The Montauk Historical Society owns and operates the museum. They also run the visitor center, gift shop, and grounds. If you climb 137 steps to the deck, you will see some spectacular views of the ocean. Check out the exhibit, Where Land Meets Sea and Sky: Exploring Montauk History through the Richard T. Gilmartin Galleries.
Fee: $9 Adults, $7 Seniors, and $4 Children up to 12 years old and at least 41” tall; Children under 41” free, but they can’t go up the tower. Open daily May 3 – Columbus Day, Call for off season times. Group, wedding, and school tours year-round with advanced reservations. New York State Parking fee: $8 day. 668-2544

Adventureland

Ride The Pirate Ship, Hurricane Coaster or Silvers Twister! Summer isn’t over yet! Bring the family to Adventureland this Labor Day Weekend for a day of fun. Not into roller-coasters or scary rides? You can try the bumper cars or spook your family inside the Ghost House. Adventureland also has water rides, just in case you want to bring along your bathing suit! Hungry? Well, Freeport’s Nautical Mile is the place to be for food this Labor Day Weekend. Rachel’s Waterside Grill serves up some delicious fried calamari, baked clams and crab cakes. Or perhaps you’ll want to checkout the oldest restaurant on the Nautical Mile, Otto’s Sea Grill. Hopefully the weather will be nice and you can sit outside. But if even if the weather isn’t cooperating, Otto’s has a lovely atmosphere inside. Their mussels marinara is outstanding! Need one more recommendation? Try The Schooner. Even if you’re not in the mood for seafood, you can feast on some delicious steak. Whatever your pallet craves, Freeport’s Nautical Mile has a wide selection of restaurants and bars sure to satisfy!
